CrewConnect ("CrewConnect", "we", "us") is a crew-only social network for airline crew members. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the CrewConnect app, you agree to this policy.

Who this app is for

CrewConnect is intended for airline crew members aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Information we collect

Account information — your email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored in hashed form; we never see them in plain text).
Profile information — your name, airline, base, profile photo, and any details you choose to add (such as bio, traits, or social links).
Content you create — recommendations, photos, forum posts, comments, and other content you share in the app.
Connections — the crew members you connect with.
Location — approximate (coarse) location, used only to power features like the layover map and "Who's Around". You control whether your presence is shared and with whom.
Device & technical data — device type, operating system, app version, and a push-notification token so we can send you notifications.
Diagnostics — crash reports and basic performance data to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

How we use your information

To provide and operate the app and its features.
To show you relevant crew, recommendations, and layover information.
To send connection requests, replies, and other notifications.
To keep the service secure and to diagnose and fix problems.
To communicate with you about your account or important updates.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Your visibility controls

CrewConnect gives you per-item privacy controls. For your profile, presence, connections, photos, and other details, you can choose who can see each one — for example everyone, only your airline, only your connections, or only you. You decide who sees what.

How information is shared

With other crew members — according to the visibility settings you choose.
With service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Google Firebase (push notifications on Android), Apple (push notifications on iOS), and Sentry (crash and error reporting).
For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.

Your rights

You can access and update your profile in the app at any time. You can request to delete your account and associated data by using the in-app option or by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or LGPD, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and continuously improve our safeguards.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure your data remains protected in line with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated in the app.
